Steve Garbon, CPA/ABV, CVA

Steve is a Managing Director at The Braff Group, where he leads clients through all aspects of the transaction process, applying his extensive expertise in accounting, financial analysis, and valuation. Since joining the firm in 2008, his role has progressively expanded, culminating in his promotion to Managing Director in 2021.

In addition to his leadership at The Braff Group, Steve brings nearly a decade of experience serving privately-held businesses and their owners. As a former manager at a regional certified public accounting and consulting firm in Pittsburgh, PA, he provided independent valuation and consulting services across various industries for purposes such as income tax reporting, financial reporting, ESOPs, business acquisition and divestiture, corporate planning, and economic damages calculations.

Committed to the field of mergers & acquisitions and valuation, Steve has also contributed as an industry mentor for the University of Pittsburgh’s Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Investment Research Challenge.  He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA), holding designations as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV), and Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA).

Steve earned his BS in Accounting, graduating Summa Cum Laude from Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, PA, where he was awarded the Saint Vincent Academic Merit Scholarship and inducted into the Alpha Lambda Delta honor society.

Outside of work, Steve enjoys spending time with his family and coaching his two sons’ sports teams.
